The fourth-largest and shallowest of the Great Lakes, Lake Erie was named for its shape. “Erie” is shortened from the Iroquoian word erielhonan, meaning long tail!
Have you ever heard of Nessie the Loch Ness Monster? But have you heard of Bessie, the 40-foot monster, who is rumoured to make her home in Lake Erie? Race Bessie 388 km (241 miles) across Lake Erie in this unique, monster of a challenge. Log your miles by running, walking, wheeling, or swimming!

What do I get with my order? This package includes a Lake Erie Challenge entry, premium medal, and downloadable bib.
How does the challenge work? To complete this challenge, you will record 388 km of activity. Our results platform will keep track of your total distance logged from the activities you submit until you reach the finish line!
When can I submit results? Now through December 31, 2022. We have broken this challenge up into waves. If you have not completed the challenge by the end of your wave, you can move to the next wave. We are currently on Wave 3.
How do I submit results? After you register, you will receive an activation email. Think of this as your check-in at the Registration Tent before you head to the Start Line. You can use any app or device to track your run. You can submit results by entering your activities manually or connecting directly to one of these apps: Strava, Garmin, fitbit, Polar, Suunto, or Coros. Activities will start counting towards your challenge from the date you activate the challenge.
Do I have to run? Absolutely not! You can use any combination of activities to conquer this distance. Running, walking, cycling, swimming, kayaking…as long as you’re being active, it counts!
When will my order ship? This package is in stock and now shipping! You will receive an email confirmation when your order has shipped so that you know to keep your eyes peeled.
